Clean Up Peterborough will host RE:Connect on October 29, 2025, as part of Canada’s Circular Economy Month. This free, family-friendly event celebrates community, sustainability, and circular living at the Morrow Building in R.A. Memorial Park. Running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the event — inspired by the success of Toronto’s REmarket — will bring together more than 25 organizations, services, and changemakers to showcase practical solutions and programs for reusing, repairing, and reducing waste.
RE:Connect highlights community resources that keep valuable items out of landfill and put them back into local hands. Throughout the day, you’ll find opportunities to explore, learn, and connect:
Community Collections – Drop off a long list of items from multiple free reuse and recycling programs, all in one convenient place.
Sharing & Access – Discover community-driven solutions like tool libraries, borrowing/rental programs, and exchange opportunities that make it easier to share resources.
Local Changemakers – Connect with businesses, artists, and organizations turning waste into resources and inspiring new ways of living sustainably.
Hands-On Learning & Demonstrations – See local groups in action through demonstrations, quick assessments, and conversations on repair, reuse, and waste reduction.
Community Resources – Explore year-round programs like Repair Café Peterborough, OPIRG’s FreeMarkets, and B!KE’s membership model, with opportunities to get involved in ongoing circular economy initiatives.
Family Learning – Encouraging families to learn together about building a more sustainable Peterborough.
Be part of something impactful — where community and circularity meet.
RE:Connect is more than an event — it’s a community-building celebration of circularity in action.
